The main component of the ControlSpace™ system is the DSP chassis, called the ESP-88 processor, which includes 16 audio channels (eight outputs, eight inputs) and 16 channels of audio expansion in any combination of inputs and outputs. An optional DSP expansion card could also be added that will significantly increase the signal processing power.
Operating the ControlSpace™ ESP-88 is a simple operation. Bose offers two different panels– the ControlSpace™ CC-64 control centre and CC-16 zone controller. The two wall-mounted panels use large, easy-to-read LCD screens, simple buttons or knobs, and styling to fit most decors. The CC-64 control centre operates ControlSpace™ ESP-88 systems of varying complexity by switching audio sources, selecting scenes and changing complex system configurations. The CC-16 zone controller is designed for a single audio zone. This provides a convenient, cost effective wall panel for users of banquet rooms, meeting rooms or other locations where simple and powerful control is needed.
The ControlSpace™ designer software makes it simple to configure, program and operate the ControlSpace™ ESP-88 systems. Installers can program, verify and document the systems designs. With the Smart Simulation operation, sound contractors can easily demonstrate and work with customers to determine the controls before installation begins. Take One : Sheraton Hotel in Karachi
Sheraton Towers Hotel in Karachi, Pakistan were finalizing the major renovation of their banquet facility which generates handsome chunk of their total property revenue. They were looking for a design solution that was reliable, user friendly and should deliver the level of quality associated with their international brand name. After evaluating several manufacturers, Bose® ControlSpace™ system was selected by the project consultants on the basis of simplicity, elegance and quality performance. Blue Fish Audio PVT. LTD., representing Bose in Pakistan put in their utmost efforts by highlighting the key features of the ControlSpace™ system, placing major emphasis on the system’s ability to operate at the touch of a button. This attribute could make possible the transformation of a small meeting room (a 50 delegate room) in one instant, to a large banquet hall in another (800 delegates room).
Take Two : Oil Sector Complex, Kuwait
The Oil Sector Complex auditorium, owned by the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) has a capacity of 154 seats. This auditorium is among the most prominent establishments in Kuwait, having state-of-the-art technology, interior and amenities. The KPC uses this auditorium to host their corporate meetings, seminars, presentations and conferences. In addition to this, the Ministry of Oil and Energy (MOE) uses this facility to hold conventions and conferences. The main objective put forward by the consultants to the project’s and installation Department of aDawliah Universal Kuwait (Bose distributor for Kuwait) was to have a true Digital Surround Sound System, that would cater to multiple needs and also deliver high-quality performance for that space. The ControlSpace™ -ESP 88 System was selected which would deliver a powerful, flexible solution and offer controls that are easily accessible. The components installed in this auditorium are: 1xBose® ControlSpace™ ESP-88, 1xBose® CC64 Control Center, 1xBose® CC16Zone Control, 6xBose® 1800-VI Power Amplifiers, 2xBose® 802-III Loudspeakers, 2xBose® 402-II Loudspeakers, 8xBose® Model 203 Loudspeakers, 1xBose® Acoustic Wave Cannon™ System. For the pre-function background music and paging 8xBose® FreeSpace® Model-32 loudspeakers have been installed.
In addition to this auditorium, there are 30 different meetings rooms, briefing rooms, seminars and conference rooms where various Bose loudspeakers and Bose electronics are installed.
