ArabianBusiness.com magazine published some impressive Q1 hotel industry statistics for 2008, confirming the Middle Eastern region's position as the world's current top performer in average rate and occupancy. The World Trade Organization suggests that in the year 2020, Middle Eastern destinations will receive 68.5 million arrivals (vs. 46.4m in 2007). This is certainly good news for tourism operators in a region marked by incredible growth in the hotel industry, with no immediate signs of abatement.
