The Crowne Plaza Health Spa in Kuwait with Bose® Sound Installed
The Crowne Plaza Kuwait is a five star deluxe international hotel, conveniently located near Kuwait international Airport (KWI). It has excellent transport links to major military installations, oil companies, shopping malls and the beach making it the ideal place to stay for all visitors to Kuwait.
The hotel offers 329 rooms with spacious newly refurbished rooms and suites with a variety of luxury amenities. A major expansion of the hotel is underway.
At the end of this year, a magnificent new Aqua Tonic Spa will open featuring 17 different treatment rooms. The spa measures approximately 3500 sqm with a 650 sqm double deck indoor pool with four different water temperatures.
The hotel is also building a new conference centre and a 1800 sqm ballroom, which will improve its facilities for weddings, functions, conferences and product launches. In addition there will be 200 new guest rooms and suites.
The sound system design for the project began in April 2007. Bose distributors in Kuwait aDawliah Universal Electronics Co, 
were asked to design the ambience enhancement system and the treatment room entertainment system, for the spa. The audio visual systems for the meeting rooms along with CCTV and access control systems were also part of the design contract.
The spa consists of three floors along with two basement levels for parking.
The challenge was to provide background music in all areas as well as the ability to make clear voice announcements when required. The area to be covered included six small and medium sized meeting 
rooms, the massage, treatment and relaxation rooms at the health spa.
aDawliah Universal Co projects and sales team leader Robert Kerr said “the plan was to create a more personal and familiar environment for the clients while they underwent treatment.
“We provided stand alone music systems in each of the treatment and massage room so clients could listen to their personal music choice on their own CDs or choose from the bank of available music,” he said.
“We proposed the use of Bose Wave® music systems in each of these 18 rooms. The Wave® music system offers simplicity, elegantly blends into the décor and delivers 
unprecedented performance,” Robert said.
“We also proposed two Bose FreeSpace® DS16F ceiling speakers in each room to provide centralised background music as well as paging and voice messages to be relayed. Bose FreeSpace 32SE speakers were proposed in the car park basement areas.”
In the Aqua Tonic pool the Universal Electronics team proposed the use of ceiling mounted Bose FreeSpace DS16 loudspeakers.
Each meeting room is equipped with an audio visual system using Bose 151® speakers on either side of the screen.
The Bose ControlSpace® ESP88 engineered sound process has been proposed to manage the distribution and routing of audio in designated zones throughout the facility.
The system is currently going through the final phase of installation. The Audio visual systems for the meeting rooms have already been installed and commissioned.
