Bose® Modular Bass Loudspeakers in the MEA Region
Following are a few of the many installations that have taken place in our region. These recently completed successful projects showcase just how well suited the Bose® Modular Bass Loudspeakers can be in a variety of scenarios.
Shangri-la Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa, Sultanate of Oman
Located on the exclusive bay at Barr Al Jissah, Shangri-La's Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa nestles against the dramatic backdrop of the rugged interior mountains and the spectacular waters of the Gulf of Oman. Set in 124 acres of distinct scenery, this five star resort complex comprises three hotels, namely, Al-Bandar, Al-Waha and Al-Husn, Al-Bandar will be the focus of this success story.
Bose products are installed throughout this property, but, as the modular bass speakers are the products under scrutiny, we will take a look at the area where they are installed:
Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa, Al-Bandar offers both the leisure and business traveler a fully integrated destination resort. Set amidst 124 acres of landscaped gardens, is located just 45 minutes away from the Seeb International Airport.
In June of 2005, clients from the resort approached OHI Electronics, representatives of Bose® in Oman to design a sound system solution for their resort. The conference and meeting facilities at the resort feature all the latest audio visual equipment and lighting support. The ballroom seats 700 banquet styles plus the pre-function area, up to 850 guests can be accommodated.
After consulting the Bose® design guide, the OHI Electronics team assigned the speaker clusters in the appropriate locations and made sure that the bass was non localizable by locating it close to one of the mid-high loudspeaker clusters in the room.
Another requirement from the customer was to keep the bass speakers portable so that they could be linked to the system when needed. This aspect was also kept in view while designing the solution.
Waljat Collage of Applied Sciences(WCAS), Sultanate of Oman
WCAS was established in October 2001 and is today one of Oman's leading tertiary institutes. The Seminar Hall Complex is the ideal venue for meetings and seminars. It houses a state-of-the-art multimedia presentation auditorium with audio, video, slide, document and computer projection through a presentation podium. The main presentation auditorium in the Seminar Hall Complex includes fixed, multilevel, amphitheater seating to accommodate up to 337 persons.
The customer placed the challenge in front of the OHI team to deliver a full range hi-fidelity sound without using big bulky loudspeaker cabinets. Clusters of Bose® MA-12 modular array loudspeakers with MB4 modular bass speakers, when implemented, faithfully delivered rich quality sound that the customer expected from Bose®.
Rattle Snake Nightclub, United Arab Emirates
The all-American Rattlesnake Nightclub, located at the Metropolitan Hotel, Sheikh Zayed road, Dubai is the home to live bands playing music from the 60s through to current. This music accompanies the good food and good cheer served by the waiting staff.
Back in June 2006, the client approached G&M International, representatives of Bose® in UAE, during the planning process for the renovation for the nightclub. After having realized that in order to retain the present audience and increase the foot fall, it was essential to have the best possible sound system for such a venue.
The new system consists of Bose® stacked pairs 802-III loudspeakers to cover the main dance floor. Two Bose® MB24 has been used to deliver the rich, deep, and punchy bass, which is crucial for such venues.
After the completion of the renovation and successful commissioning of the sound system, Rattle Snake is presently the most talked about nightlife venue in Dubai.
